We landed on Lion’s Mane mushrooms. Why? Because they’re fantastic, that’s why.

Pre-Shredded for Your Convenience

We decided to make our Lion’s Manes super convenient for our customers. This way, they’re perfect for those busy nights when you just need to whip up something nutritious for your family. Just grab a handful and toss ’em in!

A superfood and super delicious? 

These unique mushrooms, also known as Hericium Erinaceus, are truly something special. They’re packed with nutritional goodness and have a unique, meaty texture and flavor often compared to lobster or shrimp. But they’re not just good for eating. Lion’s Manes are turning heads in the wellness world for their potential health benefits too. They have long been used in traditional medicine for their neurological, immune system, and mental health benefits. There’s growing science to support these claims. But the best part is really their versatility and tastiness.

Here are some ideas to try at home:

Lion’s Mane Stir Fry: Lion’s mane mushrooms are a great addition to a hearty stir fry. Sauté them with your favourite vegetables and a splash of soy sauce.

Lion’s Mane Pasta: Toss our shredded Lion’s Mane mushrooms in garlic and olive oil, and mix with your favourite pasta. Easy and tasty!

Lion’s Mane Tacos: Sauté our Lion’s Mane mushrooms with taco seasoning, add something crunchy (perhaps our Fieldless Northern Crunch lettuce mix?), something creamy, and you’ve got tacos.

Lion’s Mane Mushroom Omelette: Fry up our Lion’s Mane in olive oil and add your eggs with some sharp cheddar for a flavourful start to your day.

Lion’s Mane ‘Crab’ Cakes: Combine our shredded Lion’s Mane (you may want to shred the pieces even finer for this one) with egg, mayonnaise, onion, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning, Dijon, parsley, salt, and pepper. Make small cakes and cover them in Panko. Fry ’em up and enjoy!

We realize mushrooms seem like a bit of a deviation from leafy greens. But our move into Lion’s Manes aligns perfectly with our mission here at Fieldless. We’re all about producing fresh, local, and sustainable food right here in Canada, cutting down long supply chains and reducing our dependence on imports. Just like our lettuces, we grow our Lion’s Manes in controlled environments all year round, with no pesticides.
