Introducing Cinnamon Cap Mushrooms, the newest addition to our Fieldless fungi family!
These beautiful mushrooms have a subtle earthy and nutty flavour. They have long stems with a crunchy snap to them and are just so pleasing to look at. They’re great for any recipe calling for mushrooms, like soups, stews, stir fries, risottos and omelettes. Or just fry them up with some salt, garlic and olive oil as a side.
Good for you too.
Cinnamon caps are rich in thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, and minerals including calcium, potassium, and sodium. They also contain anti-oxidants, beta-glucan, fiber, protein, and essential oils.
Easy to Prepare.
To prepare, trim off the hard bit at the bottom and break the cluster into individual mushrooms. There, you’re done.
Here are some ideas to try at home:
Cinnamon Cap Risotto: Cook these mushrooms with arborio rice, a splash of white wine, chicken stock, and finish with a touch of cream and Parmesan cheese for a rich, earthy risotto.
Cinnamon Cap Tacos: Sauté the mushrooms with a blend of Mexican spices and serve in corn tortillas with avocado, salsa, and a squeeze of lime.
Cinnamon Cap Bruschetta: Top grilled slices of bread with a mixture of sautéed Cinnamon Cap mushrooms, garlic, parsley, and olive oil.
